Summer is my favorite time of year because as a SoCal girly, I cannot with gray skies and misty, cold weather most of the year. It feels like this Summer took forever to come and is going by way too fast. There is a silver lining though: the end of season sales. While I love clothing, bags, and accessories, shoes are probably my favorite thing to buy. Some people choose the outfit then the shoe. I will fall in love with a shoe, buy it, then build an outfit around it. I’m not sure when it started, but I think I’ve always been a shoe gal, followed closely by handbags.

When I was younger, I definitely had feet of steel. Maybe even Barbie feet. It’s wild how I used to wear heels and combat boots most days of the week AND be all over New York City from dusk til dawn in whatever shoes I left my apartment in. Now, my feet don’t have the same stamina even if I am alternating between flat sandals, heels, combat boots, and sneakers during the week. Recently, I wore sneakers and was on my feet about 10 hours. The bottom of my feet burned so badly it might have been worse than wearing So Kate 120s a few hours. Maybe living in the suburbs for the past 10 years did a number on my formerly city feet. Thankfully, I’ve discovered numbing sprays for heels and insoles for plantar fasciitis (pain in the heels of your feet) for flats so I’ll be able to handle all the shoes I love to wear despite these new, sensitive feet of mine lol.

In anticipation of the Fall turnover in stores, many retailers are having sales and many more are nearing the end of them. This is the best time to grab those shoes you’ve been eyeing since last September. That is, if you’re still able to find them in your size! I’ve linked some of my fave shoes of this season and many of them are on sale. If you caught my post about Erika a few months ago, I may have mentioned how she loved makeup and shoes -and how she would probably hate the ones I’m wearing here lol. She would definitely side eye me for wanting the mule version I liked above as well (especially if I can find them on sale). We’ll see if I end up pulling the trigger on those, but let me know what you end up grabbing from the Summer sales.
