Undergarments: Perfect Nude Contouring Underwear |Top: Pretty Little Thing Similar here| Skirt: Pretty Little Thing | Bag: Cult Gaia also here and here| Earrings: Cult Gaia also here
As you guys can tell from a lot of my recent posts, I’ve been super in to oversized clothing lately. And while I love the look, I equally love a good body hugging look that shows off my shape. First of all, I LOVE this bodysuit and skirt set. However, the sheer top and short skirt called for one of my favorite styling weapons: nude underwear. I’m basically flat chested, so I do not wear bras unless it’s necessary for coverage. I do wear nude underwear or body shapers that smooth my booty and thighs, and provide an extra layer of coverage for thin, unlined, light colored or sheer/semi-sheer garments, almost daily. There’s nothing more mortifying thanking a photo and the flash reveals that your dress or pants are see through. I 100% do a mirror check before I leave, but I’ve gotten in to the habit of almost always wearing nude undergarments just in case.
For this amazing brown set I grabbed from Pretty Little Thing, I wanted to have a bra and underwear that matched my skin tone and blended seamlessly. I got the chance to try SKIMS and I have to say I truly love the pieces I have. The bra is super comfortable and I saved it for the perfect ensemble. The high rise underwear are also comfortable and do not roll down (major plus for girls who live in maxi dresses or pencil skirts). They also gave me coverage and smoothness without feeling restrictive or suffocating. In addition to that, I love the selection of “nudes” because I was able to find a color that closely matched my skin. I got my set in Sienna.
Once I figured out the right under garments, I added my new favorite earrings and bag (both Cult Gaia) and some brown heels and I was ready to… stay inside because I am social distancing lol. With so much cute fast fashion (and much of it being thin and unlined) having a stash of nude (for your skin color) underwear is the key to making an inexpensive item look $$$. Other than tailoring, good undergarments is my #1 recommendation for always look fly, and smooth, as possible.
