I’m a little late (read : hella late) but I wanted to make sure that I wished you guys a very happy New Year before we got in to February. A lot of people were so excited for 2020 to end and had majorly high hopes that the year changing would somehow change everything. So far, it seems like 2021 is just 2020 with some bangs or a new wig, but it’s all good because I plan to eat well, stay hydrated, mind my business, and crush my goals this year. We may not be able to change the circumstances, but I am choosing to focus on what I do have. I decided that I’m not doing resolutions anymore, so I do not have one, but for those of you who do, I hope you all crush them.
I definitely went to bed way before midnight, but I still had this sexy velvet look for fun. This corset top would be super cute with jeans and heels for another occasion and I intend to rock it that way on a date night or something in the future. It is EVERYTHING. And velvet is so a luxe texture that I feel like it elevates almost any piece. Now, let’s get in to the skirt. It’s made from a fun, pleated velvet material and I thought it would be cool to stick with velvet but the pleating gives it enough of a difference to keep it from getting boring. I am tall, so I would have loved for the skirt to have been longer, but It’s still giving me all that I need and I love the dramatic slit. This much leg is not for everyone, but I am a huge fan of having a bit of drama. You really can’t get much more dramatic, or sexy, than a slit like this.
To finish off this look, I decided to switch it up and do silver accessories. Gold will always be my favorite, but sometimes it’s fun to do silver in a non casual way. These simple silver hoops and a cute silver bracelet were able to add interest without taking away from what I wanted to highlight: my collarbone and my leg. Finally, I threw on some scrappy black sandals and hit my living room for a not so exciting New Year’s Eve, but my kids had fun though lol.
Thank you all for riding with me through so many years. I’m excited to see what this year will bring. Let me know what you’re looking forward to for this year below in the comments.
